THE COURSE

FROM FIRST MIX TO LIVE SET.

Learn hip-hop DJing from the ground up with real equipment and hands-on instruction. You’ll learn cueing, beatmatching, mixing, effects and set building before performing your own 15-minute live DJ set.
Beginner-friendly. All ages welcome. No previous DJ or music experience required.

Stimpaq brings real-world hip-hop DJ experience into every class. He teaches in a supportive, hands-on way, with a focus on clean blends, cueing, track selection and building the confidence to perform.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST CLASS

WHAT TO BRING.

  • Your own DJ controller and USB cable
  • Laptop (Mac or Windows) and charger
  • Over-ear headphones
  • Serato DJ Lite installed (free)
  • At least 50 downloaded hip-hop tracks
  • USB adapter if your laptop needs one
Important: Students currently need to bring their own DJ controller. We recommend the Numark Mixtrack Platinum FX. If you have a different controller, contact us before the first class to confirm compatibility.
